U.S. Army Provincial Reconstruction Team
Tigris River, Iraq
Thanks
to the success of the Mobile MaxPure® (MMP) operating along the Euphrates
River in Iraq, the US Army’s Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) placed
an order for an additional 25 units which were manufactured and installed
along the Tigris River in 2009. Twenty of the units will pump and purify
polluted freshwater resources while 5 are designed to make polluted brackish
water potable through a Reverse Osmosis (RO) process. All of the units
were constructed to match local power and voltage requirements to sync
with products and electrical systems used in Iraq. Additionally, all
of the units were shipped with the optional MMP Trailer.
The units will be installed by the US Army’s PRT who, in turn, will
train local leaders in the simple operation and maintenance of the units.
Each leader is also supplied with a year’s worth of consumable parts
with additional consumables packages available from WorldWater for a
small fee.
Through
the use of the Mobile MaxPure® each leader will be providing power and
potable water to the residents in their district, increasing their quality
of life and decreasing suffering from water-borne illness. To learn more
