WorldWater’s patented VariMax™ technology utilizes the power of the sun to drive a 200 hP pump at the Cocopah Nursery in Borrego Springs, CA.
The WorldWater team designed and built a 229 kWDC PV power system with the patented VariMax™ technology. The system is net-metered and offsets a portion of the operation’s Well Pump 1 electric power requirements, and provides sufficient electric power to operate the 200 HP electric pump for Well Pump 1 during daylight hours for an indefinite sustained period of time in the event of grid power-loss. Additionally, WorldWater designed and built a 44 kWDC PV power system to offset a portion of the operation’s Well Pump 2 electric power requirement. This system is also net metered. Combined, the 273 kW solar systems have cut the farm’s electric bills by 70%.

“We’re happy to use environmental measures to do our work. With this advanced solar technology, we will be conserving electricity and water and reducing our operations costs.” Owner, Roadrunner Tree Farm
